Original Footage in its Raw State

Trying Different Filters and Brightness Effects

Here I am trying different filters to see which look better. In the first picture I have increased the contrast and also slightly increased the brightness. In the second image, I have put a black and white effect on it but lowered the opacity which stills allows colour to come through. This also creates a de-saturated look.

With the de-saturation, the video seems to fit better with the mise-en-scene and the style. But in the other version some of the shots look significantly better with the higher use of colours.

As I cannot decide this for myself, I have decided to uploaded both versions of my music video and get feedback from people on which video they prefer and why. Once I have gathered this feedback, I shall choose the most favoured Video as my final piece.

Editing

This is a screen grab from the editing process. At this point I'm nearing the end of the video, I have roughly about minute left of the song to complete.

Second Sessions Footage

These are the clips from my second session of filming. I am now fairly confident that I have got all the footage and shots required to complete my Music Video.

Thoughts and Review After First Shoot

I've just got back from my first session of filming for my music video. After going over all of my footage and messing around with it and editing some of it in Adobe Premiere Pro, I've noticed some footage is lack quantity. I don't have enough of the singer as I wanted, some of the shots and angles look a bit off and I don't think I have enough close ups of the guitarist and bassist.

I originally planned to get all the filming done in one day as this would have helped with continuity. It would also have been desirable as it can be quite difficult to organize all my performers as I have to book the studio in plenty of time. I've concluded that I need to have at least one more session of filming. As I'm writing this I have already asked my performers if they willing to do it again and when they are free to do it.

Overall, I think the shoot went well, I may not have gotten all the footage I needed but now I have a much clearer idea on what I want.

Feedback Sheets/Forms

These are the feedback notes from Curtis, another media student. I got all of the students who viewed my video a notepad and told them to write down any thing that really stood out to them, whether it was good or bad.
